This code is designed to outline how we
intend to uphold our values and build a relationship of trust with all
our Members, while protecting Hidden Art’s reputation – and in return
how we ask our Members to act.
Any Member of Hidden Art (the trading
name of Mazorca Projects), and anyone who works for or on behalf of
Mazorca Projects is expected to familiarise themselves with this Code
of Conduct. We set high standards for ourselves as part of our
commitment to provide you with a professional, quality service. We aim
to treat all our Members and Stakeholders fairly, honestly and
respectfully. In return, we ask that Hidden Art staff are treated the
same.
At Hidden Art we endeavour to:
- Respect the integrity of all of our members through products and services offered, marketing and advertising.
- Respect the integrity of the different cultures of our members.
- Encourage production and working practices that are socially just and environmentally sound.
- Facilitate the flow of information and build the capacity of Hidden Art members sharing knowledge and skills across the network.
- Work
with Associate members to help ensure that designer-makers requests for
market information are met and that consumers/buyers can access
information about our member’s products.
- Ensure that any selection procedure or competition is fair and managed transparently
- Ensure equality in pay and participation for all groups of people.
- Arrange contracts for events and services in advance, to facilitate long-term planning and budgeting.
- Pay a fair price that has been agreed through dialogue for products or services.
- Ensure prompt payment to designer-makers and other members.
- Incorporate
feedback mechanisms to give our members a chance to comment on the
service they receive from Hidden Art and each other.
- Abide by the law and ensure our practices comply with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Follow our Complaints Procedure and respond promptly to complaints, taking action to improve.
We ask ALL members to:
- Respect the Code of Conduct and abide by the additional guidelines set out for each member category.
- Ensure
all work and all relations with Hidden Art and other Hidden Art members
are conducted in an open and honest, fair and transparent manner.
- Treat all Hidden Art staff fairly, honestly and respectfully.
- Respect the confidentiality of other Hidden Art members.
- Provide us with your honest and constructive feedback as to how we can improve our services.
- Raise
complaints promptly with the individual in question, or with the
Project Manager of a franchisee, or the Chief Executive at the Hidden
Art head office. Please refer to our Complaints Procedure for further details.
We ask Designer-Maker Members to:
- Respect the work of other Hidden Art members and not attempt to copy their work.
- Follow
and respect deadlines you are given when participating in any
event/service. If this becomes difficult, to advise the appropriate
Hidden Art member of staff at the earliest possible moment.
- For meetings or training sessions, advise us in advance if you are unable to attend. Or if attending, to arrive on time.
- Read, agree to and sign a Hidden Art contract when participating in a Hidden Art event or service which will cover:
- The process (key deadlines and dates)
- Responsibilities of designer-makers and Hidden Art
- Payments
- Quality of work
- Force Majeure.
We ask Manufacturer/Retailer Members to:

Only announce a brief if it is a serious project with which you have every intention of progressing.

Be
very clear in any brief you submit and to understand that in order to
get a successful result you need to respond as fully as possible to
questions from Hidden Art and designer-makers.
We ask Associate Members to:
- Be honest regarding your skills and expertise and how you can assist other members.
- Refrain from either seeking or participating in questionable payments or favours in order to secure competitive advantages.
- Refuse to acquire commercial information by dishonest or unethical means.
